Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to have it deleted.
Effective September 30, 2026
Who this covers
This policy applies to Kuyper.ai (“we,” “us”), reachable at kuyper.ai. If you have questions about anything below, contact privacy@kuyper.ai.
What we collect
Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and an internal account ID. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, those providers share basic profile information with our authentication provider (typically your name, email address, and profile photo) as part of completing sign-in — our application itself only persists your email address into our own database.
Chat content. The questions you ask and the answers you receive are stored, along with which source passages were cited, so that your conversation history is available the next time you sign in. This applies whether you're signed in or using Kuyper.ai anonymously — anonymous chat content is stored but is not linked to any account or identity.
Usage counts. To enforce daily question limits, we track how many questions have been asked per day, associated with your account (if signed in) or with a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser's local storage (if not). This identifier is not your IP address and isn't used to fingerprint or track you across sites — it only exists to count questions.
Payment metadata. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we store your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, and plan tier. We never receive or store your card number or other raw payment details — those are handled entirely by Stripe.
Waitlist signups. If you join a waitlist, we store the email address you provide.
Why we collect it
We use this information to operate the product: authenticating you, retrieving your conversation history, generating answers grounded in the Reformed source library, enforcing daily usage limits fairly across tiers, processing subscription payments, and sending the transactional emails necessary to run the service (account confirmation, password resets, waitlist confirmations). We do not sell your data, and we do not use your chat content to serve you advertising.
Who we share it with
We rely on a small set of third-party services to run Kuyper.ai. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase hosts our database and handles authentication, including Google and Facebook sign-in. Your account record, chat history, and usage counts live in Supabase's infrastructure.
- OpenAI receives the text of your question (not your full conversation history) in order to find relevant passages in our source library.
- Anthropic receives your question, the source passages retrieved for it, and recent messages from that conversation, in order to generate the response you see.
- Stripe processes subscription payments directly and handles all card and billing details — we never see or store your raw payment information.
- Resend sends the waitlist confirmation email when you join a waitlist.
- Vercel hosts the application. As with any hosted web service, standard technical information (such as IP address and request timestamps) is processed as part of serving pages and handling traffic.
- Google and Facebook act as sign-in providers if you choose to authenticate with them, sharing the basic profile information described above.
We do not share your data with any other third party, and none of the above are permitted to use it for their own advertising purposes.
How long we keep it
We retain account information, chat history, and usage records for as long as your account remains active, and until you request deletion. We do not currently run automatic deletion or expiry on this data, so please contact us directly (see below) if you'd like it removed.
Requesting deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing privacy@kuyper.ai from the email address on your account. This is currently a manual process handled by our team rather than a self-service button in your account settings — we'll confirm once your data has been removed. We're working toward a self-service option and will update this policy when one is available.
Children's privacy
Kuyper.ai is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@kuyper.ai and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of Kuyper.ai after a change means you accept the updated policy.
